Parents of Band Seniors,

As we've already discovered, this year is starting out busy and gaining speed!! But what fun our seniors will be having this year-- : )

Just wanted to be sure you had a "heads up" on one thing you need to do as we all start the college application process: Ask your counselor or the registrar in the office for a copy of your student's transcript, and double-check it for errors! There are a number of band students who have had one or more errors on their transcripts (frequently involving their band credits). Check to be sure that:
If your child earned Honors credit for any of their band semesters, that an "H" appears next to that class on their transcript (if not, they have not been credited with their honors work).
Be sure that the correct band class has been listed (i.e. Music 1 Band A & B, Music 2 Band A & B, and Music 3 Band A & B). Sometimes the incorrect class has been listed, and the student will either have no grade or have no semester credit for that class on their transcript (even if there is a class listed).
be sure that your student has a "P.E. Waiver" for each semester that they were in Marching Band.
These are primarily "in house" record-keeping errors that your counselor can verify and get corrected, but you must bring them to their attention!!

Also, just so you will know, the Senior Celebration Committee is trying to build an email list of all PHS Seniors of '08 families so they can get information out throughout the year regarding Senior Celebration. Our band email list is being shared with them to help in this communication effort, so you will be hearing more about Senior Celebration from them!
